ABOUT THE FILM: Directed by Michael Polish, North Fork is a poetic, dreamlike drama set in 1955 Montana as a small town is about to be flooded by a dam project. Government agents (James Woods leads the quartet) go door to door evacuating the last holdouts while a dying orphan boy (Duel Farnes) is visited by mysterious angelic beings. Nick Nolte plays Walter, a farmer who refuses to leave. Daryl Hannah appears as one of the celestial visitors. The film was praised for its stunning black-and-white-influenced cinematography (shot in widescreen color) and surrealist atmosphere. Limited theatrical release in 2003 made VHS copies scarce from the beginning. Paramount Classics. Running time: 103 minutes. COLLECTOR VALUE: North Fork had very limited VHS distribution to begin with, making any copy hard to find. A sealed screener version is exceptionally rare.
